Born in upstate New York, Matt moved to Fairfield at the age of 12, where he attended grade school with Obvious World, among many other creatively talented people. A former newspaper reporter, he now works for an investment firm. Matt is married with two sons, Avery and Caleb, who often are guests on the show.
He is also often joined on A Reasonable Alternative by Michael Halley, who plays "Chewbacca to Matt's Han", president of the Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, co-founder of Natural Selections, and former president of the Organization for the New Earth (O.N.E.).
