Steven White is an actor, director, and producer. He will be discussing his upcoming production of Ravenscroft, a delightful, funny, intricate, grown up "who done it." The play opens this coming Friday, January 31 7:30 pm and Sunday Feb 2 at The Sondheim Center and then two more weekends at Spayde Theater, MUM.



Captain Jonathan Freeman of the Maryland National Guard will be the featured guest. Captain Freeman did two tours of duty in Iraq and one tour of duty in Afghanistan. He is currently a PhD candidate at the London School of Economics.

Meital DohanMeital Dohan is an Israeli actress, who is perhaps best known in the U.S. for her recurring role in season 2 of Weeds. Meital was born in raised in a small village in central Israel. She began studying acting at thirteen, and later joined Nissan Nativ – a highly prestigious acting school regarded as being the best in Israel. Ms. Dohan is currently involved in several film projects and hosts a radio show, Loud Miracles, broadcast on the Women's Radio Network.

Don Hansen is a pioneer of American surfing. He is celebrating his 50th year of owning and operating Hansen's Surfboards, one of the world's top surf shops located in Encinitas, one of the epicenters, in the world of surfing.

Dr. Jim Handlin

Leonard PittDr. James Handlin is an experienced educator having been the headmaster of three private high schools. Dr Handlin is also a poet having been published in numerous magazines and journals. He was chosen along with Walt Whitman, William Carlos Williams, and Amiri Baraka, among others, to have a poem put in marble in New York City's Penn Station.

Leonard Pitt is an author. His latest books is Paris Postcards-The Golden Age. He is currently working on a one man show with director Arne Zaslove. In 2009, Mr. Pitt and James Donlon opened the Flying Actor Studio in San Francisco offering a two-year program in the art of physical theater.

"Secrets of Oz" Part II with Carol de Giere

Carol de GiereWriters' Voices continues the "Oz" theme started last week, with this interview with Fairfield-connected Carol de Giere, author of Defying Gravity: The Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz from Godspell to Wicked. Carol interviewed Schwartz and his colleagues, friends, and family extensively for this book. She narrates his career from writing Godspell's score at age 23 to his phenomenal success with Wicked. She also covers his not-so-successful creative endeavors. Of interest to other artists and writers is the "Creativity Notes" that share insights about the artistic life.
