From this CD you will hear Maria de Barros, sharing music from the island nation, Cape Verde, off the northwest coast of Africa. Also, you will hear singer Nawal from the island nation of Comoros, off the east coast of Africa. much from this eccentric mix of musical styles. You will hear two tracks: "All Good Men" and small masterpriece "Legend Days Are Over" with spoken word by an elderly Native American who laments the loss of her people's way of life.
Great way to get over the hump at mid-week.... Take the Fringe Toast Express on another intergalactic ride. Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia (photo) takes center stage in the first
hour with rare tracks from the film sountrack to Zabriskie Point (circa 1970). Vintage British blues from Blodwyn Pig and early '70s track from John Martyn's Solid Air LP. Late in the show, you will hear tracks fromsinger-songwriter Meiko's (photo) self-titled, first CD (2007) which has garnered kudos throughout the music industry.
