What Happened To Shoegazer?

New music is the order of the day on this brand new installment of Shoegazer Ca Va? with exactly one track that couldn't reasonably be called recent, including newly minted tracks from Washed Out, Bon Iver, Pepper Rabbit, Neon Indian, Soft Pipes, Gem Club, I Break Horses and more. Saturday evening at 6 and rewound Thursday morning at 9. The dance shy need not apply.

Feeling Washed Out?

Shoegazer eschews fatigue to bring you the first fresh show in weeks, prioritizing brand new and rare tracks that run the gamut of the indie world, from relative unknowns Future Islands, Youth Lagoon and Milagres to more established acts like The Radio Dept., Beirut, Portugal, The Man, Sun Airway, The Vaccines, Washed Out and more. Saturday evening at 6 and again Thursday morning at 9. As always, your edification is our only concern.

Fourth of Ju-ly Weekend

So the Phlegmatic One, otherwise known as DD Carter, insisted that Shoegazer couldn't refrain from doing a special 4th of July weekend show, it being a time of celebration and all, so we've decided to add our monophonic mix of voices to the cacaphony of pleasure seekers and overcome our general lethargy to send you on your way with some pleasant strains, including brand new music from Washed Out, Sun Airway, Seapony, Butcher The Bar, Small Black, The Republic Tigers, as well as superlative tracks from Beach House, Dark Mean, Blackbird Blackbird and more. Saturday evening at 6 and again Thursday morning at 9. Hedonism ain't dead yet. Yippee!

Peanut Gallery

Shoegazer is all new again this week and the Phlegmatic One will be inundating us with his personal preferences and putting his already questionable reputation on the line. The canon includes work from The Love Language, My Morning Jacket, David Bazan, Beirut, 13 & God, Pomegranates, Mogwai and more. Saturday evening at 6 and again Thursday morning at 9. Rotten tomatoes may come in handy.

High Tide

Shoegazer has been on vacation in California and brought back some retro-sounding beach rock that will have you glazed and toasty for your summer evening, including Best Coast, Seapony, Surfer Blood, Cults, Kids On A Crime Spree and The Vaccines. But not to worry, for those more stodgy over their comportment, the back end of the show will feature a brand new track from Bon Iver's upcoming album, as well as new offerings from Beirut, David Bazan and Peter Bjorn and John, among others. Saturday evening at 6 and rewound Thursday morning at 9. It's gonna be totally rad.

Also a gentle reminder that you can stream our show anytime at live365.com. Just type Shoegazer Ca Va in the search bar and you'll find us. Cheers.

Pro Bono

Finally, a new show! Yes, it's been a busy month and given that only one-half of the dynamic duo that constitutes the on-air talent of Shoegazer Ca Va? receives remuneration for his services sometimes delivering fresh produce to our valued listeners proves a bridge too far. That said we're pleased to bring you brand new tracks from promising electronic acts Painted Palms and Beat Connection, as well as Generationals, TV On The Radio, Wye Oak, The Antlers, Beach Fossils and more. Saturday evening at 6 and again Thursday morning at 9. Write in to tell David that sharing is caring.

Grass Fed and Hormone Free

The Phlegmatic One has found the time in his busy schedule to once again grace us with his presence but early rumblings about his fatigue may cause us to "re-moniker" him The Somnambulant. I'll be sure to bring my cattle-prod if it comes to that. This installment of the show features brand new music from Starf*cker, Scattered Trees, Beach Fossils, My Morning Jacket and the superlative Generationals (left), a band playing in Iowa City on Friday the 29th at Gabe's, as well as offerings from Blair, Washed Out, Sonic Youth and Deerhunter. Saturday evening at 6 and rewound Thursday morning at 9. Get along little dog(g)ies.

P.S. You can also hear us streaming 24/7 at live365.com. Just type Shoegazer Ca Va (no ?) in the search bar and voila!

Indie: The Conscious Choice

The Phlegmatic One is back but we won't accuse him of being a hipster. He's retired the black turtleneck and beret for an ascot, corduroy jacket with suede elbow patches, a pair of studious turtleshell glasses and a pipe. Very collegial. And the music he's brought with him has a decidedly intellectual bent to it, including Tears Run Rings, The Magnetic Fields, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Wye Oak (left) and Sin Fang, among others, Broken Bells and an obscure track of The National included. Saturday evening at 6 and again Thursday morning at 9. Remember that self-deprecation is just a veneer for his incredible narcissism.
