And what a star Dracula is outranking Frankebelanstien and the Wolfman for decades in popularity. This week selections from famous Dracula horror scores along with characters Halloween is proud of:
Bram Stokers Dracula; Buffy, The Vampire Slayer; The Horror of Dracula; House of Wax (the Original 1953); Gremlins 2; The House of Frankenstein; Interview with the Vampire; Fright Night; Drag me to Hell; Wolf and Dark Shadows.

007You'd never guess Thomas Newman, being the unlikeliest composer, was picked to score his first 007 movie. But he has created a surprising soundtrack with confidence and one that is resolutely his own not sounding like anything he's done before in "Skyfall", the twenty-third James Bond film opening in theaters Nov 9.

This week highlights selections from this refreshing and entertaining film score album as well as Alexandre Desplat's newest, "Argo", Danny Elfman's "Frankenweenie", Thomas Newman's "The Help" and Nicolas Hopper's "Land of the Tiger".

40 year old Jonny Greenwood scores big with The Master; Bebo Valdes' tribute to all the Cuban musicians of the 1940's and 1950's era in the adult animation film Chico & Rita. EnnioBeing All Things Italian this weekend in Fairfield we Ninosalute two of Italy's GREATEST composers. Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone. Selections include from Rota's scores "Toby Dammit", the beautiful "Amarcord", "Juliet of the Spirits", the legendary "The Godfather" and Fellini's "81/2".
 
Morricone's scores include: the strong emotional core and melodic grace of "Cinema Paradiso"; Italian thrillers "Cat O' Nine Tails" and "Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion"; the brilliant western opera "Once Upon a Time in the West"; "Wolf"; "The Sicilien Clan" and the pulsing western "Two Mules for Sister Sara". Listen in on the brilliance of these composers Wed June 13 3-4 PM.

poster"Strings and brass are the real stars of Elfman’s “Dark Shadows,” which cry, scream, and cackle through the album like a strategic blend of musical expression and sound design."

Also, selections from Elfman's "Men in Black 3" score holds up fairly well to his previous 2 installments along with selections from Alan Silvestri's "The Avengers"; James Horner takes us "Back to Titanic" as his score remains as romantic, magical and as instantly recognizable as ever. Also featured is Lucas Vidal's haunting score "The Raven".
