BYU's Vocal Point live on the square at noon Saturday Vocal Point, 2006 International Collegiate A cappella Champions, thrills audiences with a creative show that combines harmony, and remarkable vocal percussion into an exciting and unique style, Maximum A Cappella. The nine voices of Vocal Point extend the musical possibilities far beyond the capabilities of a traditional four-part quartet. The ensemble does not use any musical instruments; instead, they adapt a song’s complex instrumentation into an original vocal reaction. Audience members have been known to mistake the complex sound s for musical instruments during a performance. After the show, Vocal Point will bring their “Maximum A Cappella" to the Fairfield Square at 12 noon for a special Live on the Square performance.
