Host Dennis Raimondi talks with jazz legend Paul Horn and his wife singer/author Ann Mortifee, an amazing discussion on music, life and the art of improvisation.

Paul and Ann are keynote speakers for this weekend's Music & Consciousness Symposium at MUM on Saturday, May 14th and 15th. On Sunday at 7:45pm they perform in the Golden Dome with special guests Ed Sarath and Eugene Watts of the Canadian Brass. Tickets available at the Chocolate Shop and MUM Bookstore.

James Moore talks with Koplant_ No saxophonist Joel Vanderheyden on a live call-in interview Thursday at 1pm CST.

Based out of Iowa City, Joel and Koplant_No, will be performing in Fairfield this Saturday, March 13th at 8pm in Morning Star Studio on the square.

The group is a forward-thinking ensemble that incorporates elements of jazz, electronic music, and progressive rock, and whose influences include Radiohead, Telefon Tel Aviv, Michael Brecker, Beck, J Dilla, Garbage Factory and Happy Apple.

At 2:15pm, host James Moore talks with David Herzfeld's impressions of seminal jazz club, the Village Vanguard, celebrating its 75th year anniversary this week. David spent many nights seeing such legends as Elvin Jones whom he and his brother, Steve, would befriend and remain friends with for decades.

Also on the show, State Senator Becky Schmitz talks about her work at the state capitol and a number of bills wending their way through the legislative process, including health insurance regulation.

At 4:30, Steve Briggs will talk about his book INDIA: MIRROR OF TRUTH and his upcoming illustrated talk at the public library on Thursday March 4th which is being sponsored by the Fairfield Quiet Zone. Steve spent nine years traveling and teaching meditation in India and has many fascinating stories to share.
