The Voting Fraud Myth and Poetry from Within

Join host, Andrew Tint as he highlights the issues facing Generation Y.

This week 'Generation whY' will start with a serious discussion about voter fraud. Is it a real issue? Are new voting restrictions actually hurting more than helping our country? We bring these questions  and more up to Matt Segal. On the second half of the show we are joined in studio by Fairfield poets Monserrat Iñiguez and Taylor Irezumi of Soapbox Speakeasy.

OURTIME.org co-founder Matt Segal will return to discuss the voter fraud and voter suppression. Find out more about their efforts here.

As president and co-founder of OurTime.org, Matthew leads campaigns to expand job opportunities, voting rights, and civic education among his generation while devising strategic partnerships with media brands to enhance the voice of his peers. Matthew is also a regular TV commentator, contributing most frequently to MSNBC, and has appeared on The TODAY Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, and the CBS Evening News among several other cable and broadcast news programs.

The Soapbox Speakeasy presents Fairfield poets a venue where they spit, flow and shock. Show takes place every Saturday after ArtWalk at the Urban Village Collective. The Soapbox Speakeasy is headlined by a different language artist each month- the headliner selects the theme, which sets the writing challenge, and the ensuing lineup is filled by poets who craft work to speak on the topic. The goal of the event is to inspire people to write- including audience members. It promotes a community of writers who gather to teach, write, share, rehearse, play and support each other, as well as develop material for performance and publishing. The Soapbox Speakeasy is presented by The Urban Village Collective, a space for craftspeople, artisans, and independent business owners to create and developtheir products in a friendly cooperative setting.
