What Artists' Studios Reveal About the Creative Process

Studio Life Book Cover

Artist Sarah Trigg investigated the creative processes of 200 fine artists by visiting their studios, interviewing them, and photographing the bizarre collections, odd rituals, and makeshift tools that help and inspire them. Then Sarah culled her photos and interviews down into an exploration of 100 artists.

The result is Studio Life: Rituals, Collections, Tools, and Observations on the Artistic Process, released by Princeton Architectural Press last week. Following a narrative arc that loosely explores all stages of artists' lives, this book provides a unique view of artists and their creative process. Sarah's photos of and commentary on how artists work just may inspire you, too, to unleash your playful side so don't miss The Studio with Cheryl this week!
