rock'n'roll hoochie coo

Tune in 1pm CT Wed Sept 14th for my live interview with guitarist/producer/documentary filmmaker Paul Nelson, who worked closely with Johnny Winter. Totally badass!!!
Paul Nelson

Executive producer and musician, Nelson has performed or worked with the likes of Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Vince Gill, Joe Perry, Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter and a host of others, yet Paul Nelson is often overlooked by those outside of the recording and music industry.

This engaging, talented guitarist is also a top notch producer, performer and manager and is currently on what is perhaps one of the best rolls of his career. “I signed with Sony,”said Nelson with enthusiasm. “I’m getting ready to go back out on the road with the Paul Nelson Band to support my new CD, “Badass Generation.”

The album is a combination of ’70’s style jam rock, blues and a mix of electric and semi-acoustic material and my band is just incredible. I’ve got Morten Fredheim on vocals, bassist Christopher Alexander and drummer Chris Reddan and the caliber of their talent is just outstanding.”

Along with the new record and alliance with Sony, Nelson is still performing and touring with the Johnny Winter All Star Band and Nelson and his band mates will continue to pay homage to the late, great guitarist. “There’s always going to be a lot at these shows, a tribute to Johnny, which I’ve done before and I’ve been joined by people like Edgar Winter and Earl Slick and so many others; I never know who is going to want to perform with us. There will be some classic Johnny songs performed, lots of new stuff from his last album and maybe from my new one; the nights are definitely a lot of fun. ”

Touring isn’t all that keeps Nelson busy. Being a producer for artists like Winter, James Montgomery and blues master Joe Louis Walker have kept him on his game and his schedule full. --concertblogger, Danny Coleman
