Voices of Namibia: African Gold

Voices of Namibia National Choir GroupOn Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 7:30 pm, the renowned African choir Voices of Namibia will thrill the audience at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield, Iowa, for an historic, one-night-only concert event.

Voices of Namibia from Windhoek, Namibia, in southwestern Africa will be in the U.S. to compete in the World Choir Games—the Olympics of global choral music and the largest of all international choral competitions.

At the last World Choir Games in 2010 in Shaoxing, China, Voices of Namibia won first-place Olympic Gold among more than 470 competing choirs. Roaring applause congratulated the choir when the gold was announced, and conductor Ernst van Biljon commented, "The vibe was amazing, the energy explosive, and the eruption of joy and tears when we heard of our victory—overwhelming!"[Click on "Read more" below to continue and for ticket info.]
