Although "Summertime" is easily among the most recorded songs of all time, I have decided to be merciful this year and only devote the opening twenty minutes or so of this week's Whizbang to various versions instead of bludgeoning listeners with it for the entire two hours, as I have in the past, to celebrate of official beginning of the season.

There will be other summer-themed material, of course, plus a bunch of Paul McCartney rarities and cover versions to celebrate Sir Paul's 70th birthday this week.
