This Monday I am broadcasting an interview with Klaus
Walz from the German band Jane. Klaus Walz is one of the most important protagonists in the German music scene since the last 40 years.
After performing in various amateur formations he joind the british german band epitaph in 1970. In late 1970 Epitaph signed a recording deal with Polygram. Many European and US concerts followed shortly after their first album had been released.
The band broke up for a short time in 1975, after their last US tour. Klaus became a studio
musician and became a hired gun for various bands ("Guru Guru", "Karthago", "Jutta Weinhold Band", etc).
In 1986 Klaus joined Jane Jane is active untill today with some interruptions during the nineties. The Band released a couple of albums since the late nineties and is back on the road with growing success since 2002 The line-up was until Peter Pankas Death in 2007: Klaus Walz, Peter Panka, Werner Nadolny and Charly Maucher. Jane remains as one of the most loved respected Bands in Germany and I regard myself as very fortunate for this oportunity to talk to one of the key personalities in the German rock scene.
