A Centripetal Sounds 'By Someone Else'

G ManThis is a truly listener-supported show because the songs have been suggested by folks like you. So grab a seat somewhere or roll the windows down and savor the sounds of big name bands like Deep Purple, The Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, and The Doors. Or relish the newer wave of artists represented by Ray LaMontagne, Red Cosmos, Klaus Grobe, and Hard Working Americans. Check the playlist out, catch my blog for the CD of the Month, and email me at centripetalsounds@gmail.com to get a song on the next comp. The G Man

Music In The Nighttime

RRTake a Swirl through the Dirty Yellow Mist in a Cyclical fashion with me. Though There Is No Substance between, you are In The Running for the Invocation & Ritual Dance to help you to The Big Heist. From Big Heart City thru The Navajo Trail, or Traversing Through the Arctic Cold, Always In A Room. This is Music For the Other Head, and Not Just A Ghost's Heart. All these trippy songs this weekend, Saturday morning at 2, Monday morning at 4. Cool Breeze

The Medium Is The Message

G ManAll hits, all the time... The first 18 songs are from a compilation cassette tape I made many years ago. Lots of fine 80's and early 90's music there, followed by seven more songs that run the gamut of all genres. I  like to think of a playlist like this one as an old rocking chair full of stuffed animals of all shapes, sizes, and kinds, just happily co-existing together, and waitin' for a hug. The G Man

Back on Track

RR#279 is queued up, and ready to roll, so we are back in sequence. Highlights in hour one include live music by Pink Floyd, and a long cut by Samsara Blues Experiment. Side two has new music by Living Hour, old music by Miles Davis, and a track off of my possible album of the year by Ray LaMontagne. Being Instrumental (Mostly)

G ManToday at 2 PM, and next Wednesday morning at 2 AM, it is a mostly instrumental set of tracks. Instrumental due to a lack of vocals, and maybe intrumental in your appreciation of the finer art of songwriting, who knows? Plan on hearing from the likes of David Gilmour, Graphite, The Tennessee River Crooks, Paul McCartney, Guitar Pete, Jack Rose, John Handy, and a host of other fine people. Check the playlist on the left side of the page. Tune in, and enjoy. The G Man

RRIf you are planning on listening to the replay of The Rainbow Rider this Monday morning, please be advised that it is the Paul Kantner tribute show. Due to an unfortunate error, the last three shows have been out of sequence. All the songs have been played on the last three playlists, they have just been out of order. #reallifetrialsandtribulations. Cool Breeze

More Songs About Random Topics

G ManA little bit about a lot of things for my next two hour show: Bob Dylan kicks off with My Back Pages, hence the title of the setlist. Hour one highlights include Royal Atlas, The Punch Brothers, and U2. In hour two I have a jazz version of the song Queen of The Highway by The Doors. A bit of a rarity. Plus an extended version of the classic Jefferson Airplane song Pretty As You Feel by David Crosby and the PERRO session folks. Quite a jam. Kick back, relax, put the headphones on and tune in to another fabulous commercial free playlist. The G Man

Thursday: Metered Love

G ManMetered love, rhythm and news. Reasons and rhymes. You ever pull back, draw a line, frame a context, break a pattern? There is unbounded love, and then there is... what we have to work with on this edition of Centripetal Sounds. Example: Emerald Eyes by Fleetwood Mac. "Gettin' back to the way I feel, her honest word is my only real thing...she's still a mystery to me, the way she sails away slow, makes your day to day life-easy...". Or how about Chicago: "I don't want your money, that don't mean a thing, yeah...all I want is you, I wanna be your natural man...". 28 fine examples of apportioning what comes natural. 2-4 PM with a replay next Wednesday morning at 2 AM. A Tribute To Paul Kantner

RRPaul Kantner passed away recently. He was responsible for writing, recording, and producing one of my three favorite albums of all time: Blows Against The Empire. The name of my show is taken directly from his song Your Mind Has Left Your Body, from Baron Von Tollbooth and The Chrome Nun. The picture you see at left is from the album cover. So, yes, I have a heavy influence from the man. I am barely going to do justice to his body of work. He performs with Grace Slick, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jerry Garcia, David Freiberg, Joni Mitchell, and too many others to list here. Two hours in tribute to someone who I could do ten shows worth on... Godspeed Paul. Cool Breeze

The Water of Evolutionary Dew

T ShirtDennis Miller has this radio show and he has a promo that includes the water of evolutionary dew. Which literally translates into a process of growth condensation. Now, that I can relate to! Assimilating, sorting, and cataloging useful information, that's me, by way of song. I play the songs, you all benefit from having heard them. That's my story. So tune in for some 26 unique packets by the likes of Ween, Rare Earth, Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, John Mayall, and Iota, among others. The G Man
