Ed Asner talks with Dennis Raimondi about portraying FDR & more

 Ed Asner,  an American film, television, stage, and voice actor and former president of the Screen Actors Guild, talks with Speaking Freely's Dennis Raimondi. He is primarily known for his Emmy Award-winning role as Lou Grant during the 1970s and early 1980s, on both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off series Lou Grant, making him one of the few television actors to portray the same leading character in both a comedy and a drama.

In 2009, he starred as the voice of Carl Fredricksen in Pixar's award-winning animated film Up. In early 2011, Asner returned to television as butcher Hank Greziak in Working Class, the first original sitcom on cable channel CMT. He is currently starring in a Canadian television series Michael, Tuesdays and Thursdays, on CBC Television and has appeared in the 2013 summer series The Glades, in the episode Killer Barbecue. Ed Asner is also starring in FDR at the Sondheim center, Saturday at 7:30 PM

Lawrence Roeck is an accomplished director of feature films and Scott Eastwooddocumentaries. Most recently he directed the international art forgery movie Carmel-by-the-Sea starring Lauren Bacall, Alfred Molina, Hayden Panettiere and Josh Hutcherson. He also filmed Clint Eastwood for the Morgan Freeman narrated documentary produced by Warner Brothers. The Eastwood Factor.

Scott Eastwood, son of legendary actor and filmmaker, Clint Eastwood, is a film actor. Scott has appeared in the films Flags of Our Fathers, Pride, and Gran Torino. Lawrence and Scott are currently working on The Crags, an action thriller that will premiere in 2012. 

Seymour Fliegel is author of the book, Miracle in East Harlem. It is the story of how Mr. Fliegel took the lowest performing school in New York City's public school system and turned it into a model school. He currently heads the Center for Educational Innovation. Mr. Fliegel has twice been invited to the White House to be honored for his work in public education.

Meital DohanMeital Dohan is an Israeli actress, who is perhaps best known in the U.S. for her recurring role in season 2 of Weeds. Meital was born in raised in a small village in central Israel. She began studying acting at thirteen, and later joined Nissan Nativ – a highly prestigious acting school regarded as being the best in Israel. Ms. Dohan is currently involved in several film projects and hosts a radio show, Loud Miracles, broadcast on the Women's Radio Network.
