All Devotional Songs - Bhajans

First half is quiet ish as usual, but then some lovely movie music from A. R. Rahman and company - for a slightly more lively rendition of Raag Time.  Two Krishna bhajans, sensual and beaty transition us from the raaga to the Hindi films.

Love and Longing

Radha means longing. Krishna means love.  Every piece seemd to fit with every other- Shruti Shadilokar's rendition of Bibhas followed by her vocal guru Pandit Jasraj followed by a Radha Krishna remix by cheb i Sabbah with Sultan Khan on sarangi, who plays for the above two sometimes. A song called "Shruti's Song" etc.

Miscellaneous beauties for this program.  the first is from a CD copy from a Sitarist friend of mine so I don't know which raga but it moves me the way Bhairavi does so i bet that's what it is.  Then Sulochana sings a Bhairavi tappa.  I finish this show with Asha Bhosle singing: Forget about this idea of leaving right now, just sit here with me and don't think about anything else.  I seem to play a lot of these type of songs. It must be my way of dealing with my "abandonment issues."  enjoy.  I wont' be live in the station tomorrow but I'll be back with you next week.  If anyone knows the first raga, let me know!
