The Filmosophers - Movie Talk - Friday 12:30

I walked into Everybody's this week and Paul immediately held up a DVD theman from earth Filmosopher's beer brothers (Busch & Miller) might find interesting. "Have you seen this?" he asked? It was Man From Earth and we had not. It's a science fiction story written by Jerome Bixby, perhaps best known for writing one of the most revered Star Trek episodes, titled "Mirror, Mirror". Man From Earth is a small production. But as with all effective science fiction, Bixby creates a premise that opens up several intriguing and ultimately spiritual possibilities. It's one of the best "what if" stories I've seen this year. We'll talk about it, with the intention of not letting any air out of the narrative balloon, so to speak.

We're in a lull between the summer and fall film seasons, which allows us to bring some independent films to Fairfield. One possibility we'll inform you of is the glowingly reviewed documentary Man On Wire.

"They say that seeing is believing, but Man on Wire will make you doubt
what your eyes are telling you -- it really will -- as you shake your
head in amazement and awe." ~ Kenneth Turan; Los Angeles Times

It's the Filmosopher's movie talk show, with Chris Busch & Bruce Miller, where we give our filmosophy on the movies and have filmosophical discussions. Friday afternoon at 12:30.
