Pink Floyd's Roger Waters Donates Mixing Board to the KRUU
All in all, it's just another brick in the wall!!
Yes, KRUU fans, more goodwill has befallen your grassroots community station. [This is why Gary Garles calls it high frequency low power.]
Roger Waters, one of the original founding members of the legendary rock band Pink Floyd, is donating his home studio computerized mixing boar
d to 'The Voice of Fairfield, Iowa'.

This "little" unit [5'x3'X2'] will be a welcome addition to the ongoing creation of the KRUU recording studio scheduled for completion sometime this fall--if we can raise the funds to do it.
Most immediately, we need to pay for shipping and converting the power from 220 to 110. $300 to $400 should cover it. With $5000, we will be able to finish carpeting, sound-proofing, and construction, as well equipping the studio.
If you can help out--and want to be part of the most fun you'll have this side of the dark side of the moon--then take up thy stethoscope and walk on down to station. Or better yet, pick up that axe, Eugene and give us a call at 641 209-1083.

My friend Thor Johnsson works in the music biz out east and has done stuff with Roger. Waters was looking for a 501(C)3 to donate his mixing board to and--lo and behold--Thor suggested this really cool new grassroots community radio station that had begun broadcasting where his wife and kids lived back in Fairfield, Iowa. The rest, as they say, will soon be history. What a great kickstart to completing our KRUU's studios. The beat goes on...
