broken bells(Read to bottom of article for play list) Virtually, all new music on this evening with kick-off by Shins lead-man, James Mercer, collaborating with Danger cat powerMouse with 2010 band/CD, Broken Bells (photo).  With imminent CD release from UK's Morcheeba, we reflect on some of their more recent tracks, "Everybody Loves A Loser" and "Gained the World".  Look for May 2010 article in The Iowa Source for more information and recommendations on this band. As the evening unfolds, Cat Power (photo right) offers two tracks. She is known for her minimalist approach with guitar, keyboards and breathy vocal stylizing.  She's easy on the eyes, too. When the ladies take the stage, you'll hear from Shawn Colvin, Kina Grannis (winner of Doritos Crash the SuperBowl contest), Sade (new CD tracks), and Anais Mitchell (frequent Fairfield visitor) with tracks from her 2010 folk-opera CD, Hadestown, featuring Greg Brown and Ani DiFranco.  And, there will be so many Fringe Toast first-timers to broaden your musical collection, including The XX (UK dream pop trio), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (NYC Indie-rock band), Brightblack Morning Light (New Mexico folk/psychedelic band), and Inbar Bakal (Israeli chillout vocalist with a MMY-inspired track).  Prepare for another exquisite evening of sonic seasonings. This is such an amazing band to listen too. There is a lot of great talent in the band. I think the new tracks on the album are so good. This will be a great seller in the future. Keep up the good work.

I think it’s gone be a great musical evening on 100.1FM KRUU, The voice of fair field. The music will start off by Shins lead-man, James Mercer, collaborating with Danger Mouse with 2010 band/CD and Broken Bells."Everybody Loves A Loser" and "Gained the World" are some of the latest tracks by Broken Bells. There was even an article in The Iowa Source about them. As the evening unfolds ladies take the stage, it all starts with Cat Power which offers two tracks, followed by Shawn Colvin, Kina Grannis, Sade and Anais Mitchell. In the case of Cat Power, she is very much popular for her minimalist approach with guitar, keyboards and breathy vocal stylizing.
