See link to play list below! Welcome to the Green Pajamas (photo), Seattle-based band that has released 22+ albums since their founding in 1984. Yet, they have never been signed to a major record label. Hard to figure! Perhaps, their most intriguing
compositions stimulate memories of the Beatles and Tom Petty. You will taste Beatles-flavored tracks, "We're Flying" and "Emma is Crying". Listen closely for DJ Andy Bargerstock's subtle-mixing embellishments around the edges on these pieces early in the first hour. The program will also feature multiple tracks from Canada's Delerium, an electronic band with rich female vocals featuring talents such as Zoe Johnston. Although Delerium has been around since the early 1990s, America's Sleepthief, a.k.a., Justin Elswick (photo right) has garnered considerable attention recently with his 2009 CD, Labyrinthine Heart, from which you will hear two tracks also featuring UK's Zoe Johnston. Very, cool, dreamy, cross-pollination among these talents from US, Canada and UK!
Throughout this week's show, the alluring ladies and beautiful, hip electronics dominate the stage. More cool sounds from Single Gun Theory (featured last week), OceanLab (vocal trance a.k.a., Above and Beyond), Justine Suissa and Armin Van Buuren, Magic Sound Fabric, and Worldwide Groove Corporation. New solo tracks are unveiled by Tina Dico (formerly of Zero 7 fame) and Thea Gilmore spiced by classic late 1990s tracks from Gillian Welch. Oh, what a wonderful swoon it will be. Mark your calendar; Tell your friends. Post the good news about Fringe Toast. Should be another library-boosting experience. Get those jammies on.... Click here for playlist.
Hey, good call! I have what I call the 'Obligatory Green Pajamas song' every time I am live in the studio! I have all of their stuff, including the old ones you can't purchase anymore, so if you need more. let me know.
Thanks, G-Man. I appreciate your willingness to show me more Green PJs. I was thinking of you when I developed this part of the play list. Eager to hear your feedback about the mixes just before and after the Green PJs.
