A Reasonable Alternative
Taking a detour this week into the thick of the mainstream, as this devoted football fan gets ready for the biggest game of the year...the Super Bowl. Featuring artists who have performed during the half time show, like ZZ Top, Mary J. Blige, U2, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and this year's headliner- Prince. Diligently searching to uncover some musical soul buried in the avalanche of glitz and glam of this overblown extravaganza/American institution. Paying tribute to the event that has evolved (??) from its humble beginnings with college marching bands through the Disney/Up With People years to the recent MTV debacle with Ms. Jackson, and has since tried to brush itself off and regain some dignity using music legends such as the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. Plus, getting Da Bears fans fired up by dusting off the ol' Super Bowl shuffle with Walter Payton, Jim McMahon and The Fridge.....
I'm only agreeing to be on this week's show if we play "Emotional Rescue" by The Rolling Stones. You know the show just isn't the same without my pointless and (usually) inappropriate comments, so just agree now to avoid me throwing a fit. I can throw pretty far - farther than that wimp-ass excuse for a Chicago Bears quarterback.
Forget the quarterback, I'm bringing sexy back. Yeah!
