Thanks Ed Flaherty and the Iowa Peace network for alerting me to the mural exhibit "Windows & Mirrors: Reflections on the War in Afghanistan." An opening reception is being held Sun, Sept 9th, 1-3pm at the Coralville Public Library, Lower Level, in Coralville. (The exhibit at the library runs September 1-30th.)

On Wed, Sept 12th at 7pm, three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee Kathy Kelly will speak about her experiences in Afghanistan with the Afghan Peace Volunteers, and the path to end the decades-long cycle of war there. Co-founder of the Voices in the Wilderness & co-coordinator of Voices of Creative Nonviolence, Kathy has made countless trips to Iraq, been arested 60 times in pursuit of justice & peace, and has recently been working in Kabul.
