Imitation can certainly be a sincere form of flattery. Hence the incredible amount of music out there that was inspired by Neil Young. I am not a mind reader, and yet I can pick out some pretty interesting distinctions that lead me to believe these artists have spent some time listening to Neil. So we have artists like Bettie Serveert and The Red House Painters, who kick it hard with guitars. Then we also have the likes of Blue Mountain and Ray Wylie Hubbard, who play some darn fine country music.
