Ernest TubbThe movie showing down the street from me gave me the idea for the theme of this week's show, "Cowboys & E.T.". E.T. standing for Ernest Tubb, of course.

The Sons of the PioneersErnest Tubb (known to his many fans as E.T.), the guy generally credited with creating Honky Tonk music, had a career that spanned over 50 years. He is one of the best remembered country stars and has always been a personal favorite of mine. We'll be spinning many of his hits and duets with Red Foley and Loretta Lynn.

I'll be filling most of the rest of the show with singing cowboys and cowboy songs, old and new. Songs from Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Tex Ritter, Marty Robbins, plenty from The Sons of the Pioneers and more.
