Live Music With Matthew Ticciati Tonight on A Reasonable Alternative, 8:00-9:00

Tonight's episode of A Reasonable Alternative will be a completely unique event, featuring the live music of Fairfield singer/song-writer Matthew Ticciati. I conducted an interview of sorts to find out more about this young man's interests and inspirations, musically and otherwise:Matthew Ticciati

Halley - So Matt, can I call you Matt? Tell me, what kind of music do you write and play?

Ticciati - I write and play a variety of music because I have so many interests. I love salsa, bebop, hip hop, rock, folk, blue grass, funk, flamenco, gypsy swing etc. so I'm trying to integrate everything I love into my own style. It'll probably take me a lifetime.

Halley - Yeah, you'll need a lifetime. I've seen you toting around a guitar - I assume that's for more than just to look cool?

Ticciati - I play an Alvarez that I recently bought from Sharon Bousquet. I know embarrassingly little about guitars.

Halley - That's obvious. So George, can I call you George? Great. How long have you been doing this?

Ticciati - I've been playing guitar for about 9 years. Charlie Knoles was my mentor.

Halley - Knoles, eh? That explains a lot. On a more personal note, do you prefer blonds, brunettes, or redheads?

Ticciati - I find myself attracted to brunettes mostly with the occasional redhead thrown in. Don't know how all that works.

Halley - No one does, my boy, no one does. Let's get back to more serious questions. Do you feel that you're really a woman inside and that's why you portray yourself as one on Facebook?

Ticciati - I'm really a woman on the outside pretending to be a man because I feel like a man on the inside. Strange huh?

Strange indeed. But what won't be strange is tonight's show, 8:00-9:00 on your favorite radio station KRUU FM. Tune in to hear an hour of live music and a little lively conversation with absolutely no cover charge.
