THE INTERCRANIAL WHIZBANG HOUR: PAUL SIMON-Graceland: The African Concert
I’ve always thought it a crime and a shame that this 1987 concert has never been released on CD because the music and performances are outstanding. Even if you’re not that big a Paul Simon fan, his guests (Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Hugh Masakela and the Miriam Makeba) and his band (The original African musicians who appeared on the “Graceland” album) are phenomenal and the vibe is wonderful.
If you’ve never seen the film by all means put it in your Netflix queue. Meanwhile, enjoy this 90-minute audio rip from the soundtrack, beginning around 10:30 PM Monday, July 7th. Play it loud and please remember that the boogie is mandatory.
