THE INTERCRANIAL WHIZBANG HOUR: New Music Night
THIS JUST IN: Creepily enough I was already planning to open tonight's show with a Bo Diddley themed set. In honor of his passing today at the age of 79, this feature will be expanded. And now back to our regularly scheduled promo:
Once again the I.W.H. Acquisitions Department is swamped with new material, and most of this week's show will be devoted to it.
Not all of the music will necessarily be new to the planet, however. In fact among the treasures are some out-takes from The Beatles rooftop concert (in stereo for the first time ever) and James Taylor & Joni Mitchell performing together in 1970.
Also featured will be the Animal Liberation Orchestra, funk bands from Ghana, jazz composer Henry Threadgill, Hindi a capella, British cult fave Robert Wyatt and lots more.
