In this week's show, Andy Bargerstock returns from six weeks in China. During that time he has been preparing with considerable glee for this show. 90% of the music will be never before played tracks on Fringe Toast. Tonight's "Fringe Nugget" performance comes from British rock group Spooky Tooth (photo left) from their 1969 album, Spooky Two. Later, we will hear what happened to another '70s British group, the Thompson Twins (photo right below) as they evolved into the current, obscure electronic group Babble.
Ladies who take our KRUU-FM sound stage will include Bonnie Raitt, Imogen Heap (a.k.a., Frou Frou), Anjani
Thomas, The Like, Hope Sandoval (with Mazzy Star), and the incredible Mia Doi Todd from Los Angeles. But, the male artists will also get their turn. We will hear from Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Brian Eno, and the recently deceased founding member of Weather Report, Joe Zawinul.
And, of course, you will be treated to a variety of additional rarely heard artists and tracks including Sweden's Jose Gonzalez, Britian's Brian Eno, mixer/composer/producer Carmen Rizzo, and Iowa's own Bo Ramsey.
So, brew that cup of tea. Remind your friends to listen to the show by tuning into the live program on FM 100.1 in the Fairfield, Iowa vicinity OR by steaming the program through our FIBER OPTIC supported website at www.kruufm.com .
Welcome back, world traveller.
