This week's show highlights the incredible music from singer-songwriters on the 2008 Art of Peace Foundation project, Songs for Tibet, that "express our common vulnerabilities and experiences in pursuing happiness, peace and freedom." (Amazon.com; see cover photo). DJ Andy Bargerstock has chosen his favorites from this collection including songs by Joan Armatrading, Duncan Sheik, Rupert Hine, and an electronica composition by Underworld.
Ambulance Ltd. will kick off with a Pink Floyd cover, "Fearless" followed by the fringe late 60s Chicago art rock band, The Flock (album cover right). Then, Gnarls Barkley and Seal will make musical appearances on Fringe Toast. Later, you'll hear from Martin Groenewold (Netherlands), Nightmares on Wax (UK), John Mayer (USA), DJ Disse, and the Stone Roses. As we move into the ether in the second hour, be prepared for a boost in the endorphin levels as you drift through pleasant electronic spaces with Babble (former Thompson Twin members), Patrick O'Hearn, Aratone, Thievery Corporation and Art of Noise. This is a perfect musical transition to slide into an extended Thanksgiving holiday. Polish the cups and prepare the brew! The Fringe Toast Meister will spin another spell.
