100% new music never before played on Fringe Toast! Warm your heart on a chilly winter evening with a special edition of Fringe Toast. On this week's show, you will hear music from the rising independent film, "Once". Singer-songwriters Glen Hansard (Ireland) and Maketa Irglova (Czech Republic) wrote the music, performed it and acted in this sparkling recent film that received standing ovations at Sundance. The music makes your heart soar!
Keeping in the mood of love and devotion, DJ Andy Bargerstock and guest-host Cameron Bargerstock will provide some of the best from Guster, Robin Trower, Amos Lee and David Crosby. Keeping us in the mood, the female vocalists of the evening will include Lisa Hannigan (Ireland), Tina Dico (Denmark), Kaki King (Georgia), and Bird York (USA). You will hear two tracks from duo, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, from their hit CD, Raising Sand.
In the second hour when things normally turn downtempo and chillout, you will want to snuggle into a warm couch with lights low as the tunes drift into new dimensions and countries with groups such as The Knife (Denmark), Opera to Relax (Germany), and Potlatch (Korea).
Thanks for such great music to drive out to the country to! What was the name of The Knife song you played?
Listening and digging the dim lights, comfy couch feel! What a mix from Kaki to The Knife. What a great addition to have Camie in the studio with the Fringemaster :) Much love, guys.
Listening and loving it. :)
Thanks for listening to the show. Please spread the word tell your friends nationwide that they can stream this program. Andrew Bargerstock
Hey Man, whoever turned you on to the Once phenomenon must be phenomenally far out dude hisself. Keep on truckin'.
I loved that movie so much, and the music is fabulous! Glad to see you'll be playing some of it!
Yes, Heather, I agree. Just saw the film last night. My heart soared like a eagle. I hope you will listen to the show. ---Andy Bargerstock
