GUSTAVO COLLANTES is a Research Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, who focuses on energy and climate change policy, particularly as they relate to transportation, and the economics and politics of low-carbon energy alternatives.
Great job Dennis.
Story suggestion: The great Green Gouge, or How The Greedheads Are taking Over The Green Movement.
It's most obvious in the local real estate market, where 2000 square foot homes are asking ridiculous (never going to see it) $500,000+ price tags. Where cracker box campus Vastu's are priced at $300,000+. Never mind that local sellers and their sleazy realtors have not yet realized that the mainstream non-sustainable real estate markets have already collapsed for just this kind of reason - non-sustainable greed - but, how did such non-sustainable thinking pop up here in fairfield? Pssst to the developers of Eco Village - A $300,000+ Eco Box is not a sustainable economic model. And yes, we've heard your slimy spin about "green just costs more, hee hee". What you really have is the same money grubbing real estate developer mentality glomming onto a product line from which they reckon they'll be able to make some big bucks. And Vastu homes aren't much different. How did this extraordinary system of spiritual building become a vehicle to enrich a few meditating developer fat cats?
And it isn't just real estate. Your local organic food mecca. Walked the isles lately? It's a celebration of excess pricing.
Overheard at a recent upscale party, in Fairfield, from a successful respected local devoted meditating businessperson: "We need more Howard Settles, NOT more Donald trumps"
I couldn't agree more.

Visitor to Fairfield
