This new 64,000-square-foot building in Fairfield is the company’s second store built in accordance with LEED® standards. LEED®, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance “green” buildings. Hy-Vee intends to seek LEED® certification for the new Fairfield store. The new store also created an additional 125 jobs and an investment of more than $13 million to the Fairfield economy.
